Suyash Prabhudessai made his debut for India's premier T20 league on Tuesday, for Royal Challengers Bangalore's clash against Chennai Super Kings. The cricketer from Goa was bought by RCB in the Indian Premier League 2022 player auction.
Prabhudessai had a night to remember as he made a clear impact on the pitch on his debut. But his all-rounder effort wasn't enough for RCB, who ultimately lost to CSK. Prabhudessai's brilliance was seen on the pitch in the 7th over when CSK’s dangerous batter, Moeen Ali played a cut short and assumed the ball had gone past the Goan, who was fielding. While Ali took off to get a run, the youngster made a diving catch and threw the ball to wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik, who hit the stumps. Ali looked dumbstruck, standing in the middle of the pitch and accepted his fate as he was run out.
RCB needed 217 runs to win the match but were staggering at 50 when Prabhudessai paired up with Shahbaz Ahmed to put fifty stand to improve RCB's fate. The Goan cricketer impressed everyone when he gave CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja a headache by scoring two boundaries in the 11th over.
