Goa Police Cup: Sesa FA in the quarterfinals after defeating Velsav SSC

Sesa Football Academy entered the semifinals of the 17th Goa Police Cup Football Tournament by defeating Velsav SCC 4-2. The match was played at Duler Stadium in Mapusa on Sunday, 7 November.

Sesa Academy had an incredible start to the game as Ashley Cardoz scored in the sixth minute. Cardoz scored again doubling Sesa FA’s lead in the 29th minute. But Velsav soon levelled as James Fernandes scored twice in two minutes to make it 2-2. Before the break, Akash Kudnekar scored to put Sesa FA ahead.

In the second half, Faheez Mohammad scored in the 55th minute to double Sesa Academy’s lead. James Fernandes and Mathew Colaco had a few chances but failed to convert them as Velsav SCC lost 4-2.

Sesa FA will face the winner between defending champions FC Goa and YC Manora in the quarter-finals on November 13.
