Himachal Pradesh registers their first win after defeating Goa by an innings and 114 runs on 16 December at Kholvad Gymkhana Ground, Surat on Thursday, December 16.
Goa was all out for 305 in their second innings as they conceded their third innings defeat in the Cooch Behar Trophy. Goa's final two batters, Deep Kasavankar (15) and Lakhmesh Pavne (4) were dismissed on the fourth day by Ritik V Kumar, who ended with figures of 46.2 - 9 - 136 - 8. Ritik took six wickets for 54 runs in the first innings and finished the match with 14 wickets.
Goa scored a below-par 153 in the first innings. Udit Yadav (39) and Manish P Kakode (42) scored crucial runs for Goa. Himachal Pradesh retaliated with a massive 572-run total as Ashu R Sharma, Mridul P Surroch and Vaibhav S Kalta scored centuries.
The Goan team is currently at the bottom of the Elite Group C after losing three straight games.
The Goan team plays their last group match of the Cooch Behar Trophy against Chhattisgarh in Surat on 20 December.
