Dempo SC beat FC Goa to reach the finals of the Goa Police Cup

Dempo Sports Club entered the finals of the 17th Goa Police Cup on Thursday, November 17, after beating the defending champion FC Goa 5-3 in a penalty shootout.

In the first half, both teams were playing competitive football. Towards the end of the first half, FC Goa ended the deadlock as HP Lalremruata scored the first goal in the 45 + 2 minutes. Dempo retaliated with Pedro Gonsalves's goal in the 60th minute to level the score. After Dempo's goal, both teams failed to score. The match eventually ended at a 1-1.

In the penalty shootout, Dempo club goalkeeper Wellyster Mendes took his game to the next level. He knocked out FC Goa by saving Ryan Menezes' fourth penalty shot. Whereas all five players of Dempo Club hit their shots.
