Vasco police arrested a youth and seized 509 grams of cannabis worth of around Rs.50,900 on Friday, January 21.
The person arrested has been identified as Sumit Kunjan, age 19.
According to Vasco police, the youth was carrying a black polythene bag that was spotted by police in Varunapuri at around 11 pm last night while on patrol.
When the police became suspicious of his movements, they checked the bag in his hand and found that the green leaf substance in the bag was marijuana. He was found with 509 grams of marijuana hidden in brown color.
The acccused Sumit Kunjan was a residing at Pai building in Mundvel wade in Vasco.
Sub-inspector of Vasco police station Ganesh Matondkar is conducting further investigation.
