In a daring attack, unidentified persons barged into a Shri Khapreshwar Temple at Mormugao on Monday midnight and stole more than Rs. 30,000 from the donation box.
According to the police, the thieves broke the lock of the main gate of the Khapreshwar Temple and broke the fund box and stole the cash. The thieves did not stop there. They also broke into the godown and looted other valuable things.
The Mormugao police were called in immediately after the incident took place on the Monday night.
The police is investigating the matter.
