Mormugao police arrested two youth at two different raids and seized 1kg and 20 grams of cannabis worth Rs. 1,20,000 on Wednesday, January 25.
The Vasco Police arrested Ashish Parsekar, a resident of Nave Vade, at Marine Resort in Dabolim for possession of Ganja worth Rs 82,000, hidden in a vehicle.
The raid was carried out at 10.30 pm. Further investigation is being conducted by Inspector Varshad Naik Desai.
In another raid conducted by Mormugao police under the guidance of Sub-Inspector Aditya Naik, The police acted on a tip-off and arrested a youth carrying Ganja in his vehicle. Total worth of cannabis recovered from the accused is worth Rs. 20,000. The case is registered under NDPS 1985 and the further investigation is on.
Meanwhile, in the run-up to the elections, the police is keeping a close eye on the situation to ensure that no untoward incidents take place and no action is taken against the public interest.
