Cortalim panch members show victory sign after electing new sarpanch

Educiana Rodrigues was elected as sarpanch of Cortalim on Wednesday. He was declared sarpanch unopposed. Pratap Naik has been declared as deputy sarpanch.
Earlier, a seven-member confidence motion was filed against former Sarpanch xenia Pereira and Deputy sarpanch Santano Da Gama. The no-confidence motion was filed by Panch members Antonio Fernandes, Francisco Mendis, Angela Furtado, Pratap Naik, Augustino Menezes, Educiana Rodrigues and Raymond Disa at the group development office in Vasco.
Members alleged that Pereira and Da Gama were taking arbitrary decisions without trusting the Cortalim Panchayat members during their tenure.
The no-confidence motion was passed today at the meeting and the new Sarpanch was elected.
