The incessant rainfall, which started at midnight on Wednesday and continued till early in the morning on Thursday, led to waterlogged roads in various parts of Bardez taluka.
"The sudden downpour had caused a knee-to-knee water level in Siolim and Calangute market, which had highly affected the day to day business" Suraj Naik, a local businessman, told Gomantak Times.
Meanwhile, the hundreds of students who had gone to school were stranded in the school premises and bus stands on Thursday following the heavy downpour in the afternoon.
The shops were shut and the local business took a hit after various parts of Goa experienced continuous rains for hours.
"It is like experiencing rains during June-July as knee-deep water flowed from the road," a resident in Siolim said
