Celebrated award-winning Director Anant Mahadevan is presently working on his new Hindi film, The Confession, which is presently being shot in Goa.
The story of the film revolves around Goan background. Renowned actor Nana Patekar plays the lead role in the film which has been shot at places like Bastora, Goa Velha and Mapusa.
It also has several actors from Goa playing different roles. Well-known Goan actress, Dr Meenacshi Martins, will be seen in an important role in the film.
Other important characters will be played by Makarand Anaspure, Neha Mahajan, Ashish Vidyarthi and Adil Hussain, who are acclaimed actors.
Mahadevan is known for his simple, yet effective films throughout his filmmaking journey. He has the ability to transform a very simple-looking subject into a meaningful and strong medium of expression. The filmmaker has the knack for assigning the right character to the right actor to make the film more effective.
If one looks at the characters of his film, they are strong with subjective beliefs. The present film is no different. The Confession is based on a true story. Though based on the backdrop of Goa's background, the film has been shot in different states.
It will be interesting to see how Mahadevan moulds the Goan characters to suit the needs of the film and the audience.
Mahadevan's quality as a filmmaker is undoubtedly the finest among filmmakers and his latest venture The Storyteller, which is competing for the Golden Peacock at the 53rd IFFI, establishes his class.
Earlier, his film Mai Ghat was selected for IFFI and actress Usha Jadhav won the best actress award for it.
