Panaji : More than 40 government schools of Goa participated in the State-level Science exhibition organized as a part of the Government of India’s ‘Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan’, to make the learning of Math and Science interesting and stress-free at the school education level. The exhibition was held at Institute Menezes Braganza in Panaji recently.
The emphasis is on connecting school-based knowledge to live outside the school and making the learning of Science Mathematics a joyful and meaningful activity. Through this program, UNITED and Samagra Shiksha Goa is trying to generate curiosity, excitement and exploration among teachers and school children in subjects of Science, Mathematics, and Technology.
The participant schools were selected under Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan. The main objective of organizing this science exhibition is to promote interest in science and technology among the younger generation, encouraging scientific and technological creativity among students and inculcating a sense of pride in their talent. It also aims to provide exploratory experiences, encouraging creative thinking and promoting psychomotor skills among school students through self-designed models or simple apparatus.
The models/projects were evaluated by Nithin Kumar from NIT Goa and Ganga from Samagra Shiksha Goa. The exhibition was also visited by Avaneesh Tripathi from MHRD who lauded the efforts of young students. Officials from UNITED, IIT Kanpur Anurag Pandey, Faisal Nazir, and Arvind Sharma organized the whole event. Government High School Keri was declared as the winner of the State Level Science exhibition- 2020. The second prize was secured by Government High School Honda and 3rd prize was given to Government High School Ambede Nagargao, they were awarded with mementos and cash prizes. There were 7 consolation prizes as well.
