Cortalim villagers are going to experience the ease of finding quick solutions and having their official work done at one stop. Cortalim MLA has assured the shifting of several government offices, including the post office, zonal agriculture office, police outpost and other offices inside the Cortalim market complex shortly.

On Friday, during the shifting of the electricity department office from Panchayat ghar to the Cortalim market complex building, Cortalim MLA Antonio Vas said that he is thinking of shifting other public offices to the market complex building soon.

Vas said that the wait is over, and the electricity department office is to be brought inside the market complex building. With the help of the Cortalim Panchayat, other public offices will be shifted inside the market complex, which will prove beneficial to the locals.

Senia Pereira, a panch member, told reporters that by the end of November, the post office and other offices will be brought inside the market complex. The shops from the market complex will be auctioned soon.

It may be recalled that for several years the market complex in Cortalim remained underutilised for several reasons, and the infrastructure took a beating from nature. Now Cortalim MLA Antonio Vas has taken a step forward in making this complex operational. A month ago, he along with the Cortalim Panchayat and a GSIDC official had a site inspection of the market complex building. Soon the market complex will house public offices, including the police outpost.
