Senior Congress leader and AICC election observer for Goa P Chidambaram arrived in Goa for a two-day visit on Wednesday, during which he will be meeting the party workers and functionaries in the state.
Congress’s Goa unit president Girish Chodankar, leader of opposition Digambar Kamat and other office-bearers received Chidambaram on his arrival at Dabolim Airport.
The former Union Minister will oversee the election strategy for the Congress party in the state and is expected to hold series of meetings with MLAs and state committees. According to sources, P Chidambaram will also take a call on Congress’s alliance in the state for upcoming elections.
Earlier in August, Congress had appointed the veteran leader as its senior election observer for the Goa Assembly polls due next year.
