Several Congress party volunteers protested outside Nuvem MLA Aleixo Sequeira’s residence at Raia to condemn his entry into the BJP after leaving the Congress and ditching the people of Nuvem.
Savio DSilva, the South Goa Congress party head, told reporters that people of Nuvem were very disappointed and felt cheated when their elected Congress MLA suddenly joined the BJP without taking them into confidence.
Sequeira had taken an oath at several religious shrines but did not adhere to it, proving to be a turncoat. This protest was meant to represent the rancour of the people of Nuvem against the MLA’s dastardly move.
There were a large number of policemen outside the house of the Nuvem MLA attempting to pacify the protestors.
