Wondering, how would you commute from the new Manohar International Airport at Mopa to your favourite tourist locations in Goa? Don’t worry, Goa's Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd (KTCL) has planned to operate 6 buses on this route, starting January 5, 2022.
The travel distance between Mopa to Goa's major cities and tourists destination is around 50 km to 80 km. These air-conditioned buses will help passengers travel in comfort from and to Mopa.
ROUTE AND BOARDING STOPS
The air-conditioned buses will operate on two routes: Mopa to Margao via Panjim and Mopa to Calangute via Mapusa.
The boarding points in Margao are the Margao bus stand and Titan (Verna Industrial Estate) and in Panjim, one can board at Bambolim and the Panjim bus stand. Similarly, in Mapusa, the boarding point is the Mapusa bus stand.
For passengers in Sinquerim there are 4 boarding points: Whispering Palms Resort, Sinquerim Bus stop, SINQ night club and Kings Mansion.
In Candolim, the boarding points are Primary Health Centre, Newton’s Supermarket, Candolim Football Ground, Hyatt Centric Resort and Decathalon.
If you plan on boarding the EV buses from Calangute, you can stand at St Anthony Chapel, Calangute Circle, Football ground as the boarding points.
TICKETS AND BOOKINGS
The fares per ticket will be Rs 500 for Margao, Rs 250 for Panjim, Rs 200 for Mapusa etc.
KTCL General Manager, Sanjay Ghate, said "People can also pre-book tickets through travel websites Makemytrip and Redbus."
He added, "On January 5, the first flight will land and, thereafter, there will be buses plying after every one hour. On January 5, there will be around 11 to 12 flights that are scheduled to land."
