The 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has France as its ‘country focus’, a step that French Ambassador Emmanuel Lenain said will bring the two countries closer.

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) caters to both filmmakers and film enthusiasts through multiple events, and these will be held over the next few days at various venues in Goa.

The opening ceremony of the 53rd IFFI will be held at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Dona Paula, which is located just a few kilometres from Panjim.

Goa has played host to the prestigious festival since 2004.

Preparations for the mega event have been in full swing for weeks.

Goa’s capital city of Panjim is all decked up and ready to host the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) from today.
