ID Shukla on Tuesday, November 23, took charge as Goa's new director general of police (DGP).
Shukla was handed over the new charge after DGP Mukesh Kumar Meena was transferred back to Delhi.
Speaking to Gomantak Times after taking charge, ID Shukla said he was well aware of the situations and problems in Goa state.
"I will keep few priorities, tourist safety will be the highest priorities, narcotics activities will be another priority, traffic smoothness will be shown on the roads," he said.
He also said environment and getting the police force equipped with the latest technology is also on his mind.
"There are problems like parking in some town that we will ensure smooth parking space. We will also promote green corridors. The environment should also be protected and as far as technology is concerned, without technology's support nowadays no police can be advanced. Every city is having a cybercrime, but cybercrime also needs the support of technology. My priority is my police, my force everybody should be fully equipped with the technology," the DGP said.
