Former Goa Pro League winners Churchill Brothers FC have signed two foreign footballers for the upcoming I-League Football tournament. The club has acquired Brazilian midfielder Guilherme Escuro and Lebanese defender Shadi Skaf for the upcoming season.
Goa's only club in I-league had to settle for a runner-up finish in the last season, which has led to a reshuffle in the team.
The team released all four foreign players from last season and have been active in the transfer market.
The Red Machine also signed Guinean forward Sekou Sylla last month. So far, the club has signed three foreign players and will be able to add another foreign player to the squad.
Midfielder Escuro is 27 years old and has played for Retro Futebol Clube Brasil. Defender Skaf is also 27 years old and has played in the Lebanese national team. He previously was part of Akhaa Ahli Aley FC in the Lebanese Premier League.
The Churchill Brothers FC has won the I-League twice. Their last title win came way back in the 2012-13 season.
Last season, Gokulam Kerala had clinched the I-League title by beating Churchill Brothers in the second round. Churchill Brothers is the only Goan club to play in the tournament.
