Goa's daily covid cases drop to 1,387, positivity rate at 32%

Goa on Monday, January 24, recorded 1,387 fresh coronavirus disease cases, a dip of almost 50 per cent from last week's daily case count.

At the same, the coastal state recorded five Covid-related deaths and 2,174 recoveries in the last 24 hours, stated the state health bulletin issued in the evening.

Yesterday, Goa had recorded 1,582 fresh coronavirus infections, which marked a marginal drop in the daily tally. The single-day fatality toll has also dropped today, with Goa having recorded nine deaths on Saturday and eight on Sunday.

The overall infection tally and the death toll of the Goa now stand at 2,30,825 and 3,415 respectively.

The case positivity rate of Goa, however, improved significantly as it further dipped to 32.46 per cent, the bulletin data showed. On Sunday, the positivity was 40.18 per cent.

Although, the number of patients admitted to hospitals due to coronavirus increased to 71 on Monday, up from 34 on Sunday.

In the past 24 hours, as many as 2,174 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection and 38 were discharged from hospitals after being treated for the same.

As many as 4,273 tests were carried out across Goa on Monday, up from 2,744 on Sunday.
