A three-day assembly session of the Goa Legislative Assembly is all set to commence from Wednesday, July 28, during which the state's budget will be passed. All pending business of the house beside the budget including Covid management, liner projects, Mhadei river diversion, resumption of mining activities, the revival of the state economy, among others would be taken up during the session.

The Goa mining corporation bill is also slated to be passed during the session which will pave way for the resumption of iron ore mining operations in the state.

Apart from the crucial bills, the government will answer 605 questions inkling 197 starred and 408 unstarred ones. Five private member resolutions will also be tabled.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Speaker Rajesh Patnekar and Legislative Affairs minister Mauvin Godinho met to decide the proceedings of the house. While the opposition leader in the house Digambar Kamat met with other opposition MLAs discussed the strategy for floor coordination.

Earlier, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had presented the budget during the previous session in March before it was cut short. Then-governor B S Koshyari prorogued the 14th budget session on May 12, two weeks ahead of the schedule, as the code of conduct came into force due to municipal polls.
