Goa reported 3,728 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, January 13, the highest single-day rise in the ongoing wave. The active case tally reached 16,887.

4 cases of deaths have been reported in the state. The positivity rate has jumped to 39.41 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, Goa has conducted 9459 tests. The recovery rate has dropped to 89.83 per cent with as many as 971 people cured in the last 24 hours.

Dr Shekhar Salkar, a member of the Goa government's expert committee on Covid management, said that Goa may witness 10,000 to 15,000 cases per day when the third Covid wave will peak around January 20.
