The Goa Cricket Association ( GCA) is planning to create a platform to empower former state cricketers, physical education teachers and cricket coaches, creating employment opportunities in the state by providing training courses to emerging coaches from all around Goa.
A demonstration camp was held at the GCA Academy ground in Porvorim last week.
Apart from Level-1 and Level-2 coaching courses, the GCA plans to create courses regarding video analysis, match officiating, physiotherapy.
The GCA has also planned to conduct Level-0 training courses for physical education teachers participating in school competitions, according to Association President Suraj Lotlikar.
The GCA had conducted a Level-1 training camp for cricket coaches in the state from December 7 to 12 last year. The camp was attended by 16 coaches from across the state. Starting last Friday,
GCA Secretary Vipul Phadke said that the Coaches' Training Campaign is being carried out in collaboration with the Board of Control of Cricket in India. The coaches who have completed this program will soon be appointed at every Taluka Cricket Center in Goa .
