Freedom Fighter, Teacher, and Agriculturist, Sharad Vishwanath Gude, passed away at the age of 86 years on Tuesday, December 28. She was cremated at the Margao Cemetery yesterday.

She worked in various social works in Margao and also worked as an ally to Mitra Bir in the Goa liberation movement.

She was a member of the Satyagraha organisation of National Congress Goa. She also helped many freedom fighters and later on got married to a freedom fighter Vishwanath Gude.

She also contributed a lot in the field of education and started the first kindergarten in Goa, she not only opened a kindergarten but also taught at Model High School in Margao and was also involved in agriculture.

She was also the founder of Margao Mahila Mandal and was known as Sharadtai in Margao. She is also the mother of Dr. Vishal Gude and DR. Ravish from Margao
