PANAJI: The often unsung hero of the shore – the lifeguard – received much deserved appreciation and were celebrated for their contribution in the Republic Day special episode of Indian Idol.
Drishti’s Lifeguards were chosen by Sony TV as one of the country’s unsung heroes to be recognised on the popular national talent – show Indian Idol, as part of its Republic Day special which was aired on Sunday, January 26. The lifeguards sat shoulder to shoulder with other extraordinary men of courage.
The episode paid tribute not only to the Army and CRPF forces, but also to those who work unseen to keep the public safe. The first responder emergency servicemen – lifeguards, firefighters, ambulance personnel and others were felicitated in the special episode. 13 lifeguards representing the force in Goa and Mumbai were present at the show.
Ravi Shankar, executive director, Drishti Marine said, “The lifeguards who attended from Goa and Mumbai belong to the dedicated and responsible team who have continued to work and rescue, never abandoning their posts to keep the beaches safe. They thoroughly enjoyed this well-earned celebration of their hard work on a national platform.”
Hosted by singer Aditya Narayan, Indian Idol is judged by renowned Bollywood singers Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani and Himmesh Reshammiya.
Drishti’s efficient and focused lifeguard force mans the coastal beach stretch in parts of Goa and Mumbai.
