Deepak Naik has been appointed as the new chairperson of Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) and will take the charges from Saturday, 25th December 2021.

Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) Chairman and former MLA Carlos Almeida, who resigned from Assembly on Tuesday, has also resigned as chairman of the KTC. His resignation was approved on December 24. Carlos Almeida held the post of chairman for the past tens years.

Deepak Naik has been severing as the Vice President KTC December 1, 2019. He also serves as the chairperson of Mormugao Municipal Council.

Naik took over the helm of the corporation with Almeida and helped to provide many resources.

On December 22, after resigning from BJP, Carlos Almeida joined Congress in presence of the Goa Congress Desk in charge Dinesh Gundu Rao.

Almeida become the second BJP legislator to leave the party ahead of the Assembly polls scheduled early next year .
