The Panjim Police have registered the death of 21-year-old Muhammad Aga as an accident case and his post-mortem report kept pending, leaving the deceased's parents crying hoarse over the investigation into the death of their son.

“The post-mortem report has been kept pending as the viscera has been sent for testing,” clarified Panjim Police Inspector Nikhil Palyekar. “There is enough evidence to prove that there was a collision between two vehicles and it means it is an accident. We have enough evidence to rule out the allegations of the deceased's father,” added Palyekar.

Muhammad Aga, it may be noted had fallen into the Mandovi river on the early morning of August 31 after his motorbike collided with an SUV. His father has threatened to approach higher authorities to get the death of his son thoroughly investigated.

Earlier, the parents of Muhammad had cried foul over the police investigation wherein they had demanded that FIR should be registered against the car driver.

The family members of the boy had also raised questions related to the blood oozing out from the forehead cut of the boy’s dead body and how it was fresh after more than two days.

The father had levelled allegations against the Panjim police for trying to hush up the matter. He claimed his son's body had 33 injury marks. He also pointed out that the statement given by the SUV driver differs from the panchanama report made by the police.

The father claimed his son was a good swimmer and that he would never have drowned as the police are claiming. The blood oozing out from the injury marks shows that he was murdered, he alleged. He said that he will knock on the doors of higher authorities to get justice for his son.
