PANAJI: Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, who is also the chairman of Budget Committee on Wednesday said that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should present actual State budget on Thursday, February 6 and not to give notional figures. Speaking to media persons after chairing the budget committee meeting at Goa Assembly Complex, Porvorim, Vijai stated that the Opposition will not have any issues if Chief Minister Pramod Sawant presents the actual budget this time. He pointed out that for the last two years average utilisation of the budget was only 31.5 per cent. Where is the money going?" Vijai said, "Last year budget presented by the Chief Minister was sugar coating of numbers. The budget exercise was itself an exercise in futility." Curtorim MLA and Budget Committee member Aleixo Reginald Lourenco said that last year’s budget was Rs 18,000 crore but only Rs 8000 crore had been spent by the government.
