The Atal Setu arm from Merces circle will be closed for vehicular traffic till November 20, 2021, to carry out repairs.

The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) had recently written to NortH Goa collector requesting the closer of from the Northside, which is Panjim side near Merces circle, for three months for overlaying of the road stretch from Merces circle to KTC Bus Stand.

The North Goa Traffice cell has conveyed its no objection to the closure of the Atal Setu arm. On Wednesday, North Goa Collectorate issued an order for its closure for 100 days.

Former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, had inaugurated the 5.1-km long cable-stayed Atal Setu bridge on the Mandovi river in 2019.
