Trinamool Congress party which contested for the first time in Goa failed to win a even one seat at the Goa Assembly Election 2022.
Speaking about TMC's performance in the state, the state general secretary of TMC, Kunal Ghosh said "We had opened our units in Goa just a few months back. So we are happy that people of Goa are now aware of the party's symbol and flag. We are satisfied with the votes we got; we want to work hard to further increase our organization in the coastal state".
He also commented on Congress's performance and said that Congress has failed to put a fight which has led the BJP's victory in the assembly poll in four of the five states. "We have been saying this for a long that Congress in its present form is not suited to fight against the BJP. There is a need for a leader like Mamata Banerjee to fight against the formidable forces," he added.
The failure of the party also gave a setback to one of the strongest candidates, Churchill Alemao, who was defeated by Aam Aadmi's Benaulim candidate, Venzy Viegas by 1823 votes.
The father-daughter duo who joined TMC recently hoped to win in their respective constituency. However, Valanka Alemao also lost to Ulhas Tuenkar of the BJP By 5168 margin. Tuenkar's victory gave the BJP an entry into the Salcete taluka.
Even in Porvorim constituency, though Sandeep Vazarkar came in the second position Rohan Khaunte defeated him by wining with a huge margin of 7950.
Tivim's Nilkanth Ramnath Halarnkar with a margin of 2051 defeated Kavita Kandolkar of TMC.
