Revolutionary Goans (RG) announced its sixth list of two candidates on Monday, January 24, that will contest the next month's Goa Assembly elections.
Rajesh Redkar will contest from the Panaji constituency while Paresh Toraskar has been the party's candidate for the Mormugao constituency.
“The leaders from our party, which our new faces, have stayed in the same party and not changed like others, even though not having money, they have not accepted money from other parties,” RG Chief Manoj Parab said, adding that one more list of candidates will be out by tomorrow or the next day.
Parab also announced a slew of promises for women in the state, saying that women empowerment is lagging in Goa.
Here's what RG has promised under its women empowerment policy:-
A monthly allowance for women up to Rs 2000 or an additional business seat capital fund up to Rs 3 lakh for aspiring women and entrepreneurs with active government support for their livelihood.
Interest-free business loan up to 10 lakhs with appropriate training from the government.
The Ladli Laxmi Scheme of Rs 1 lakh or 2.5 lakh for higher education.
Women will be given self-defence training and courses will be provided as a syllabus in schools and colleges.
CCTVs in public areas.
Woman Safety mobile app will be designed with a 24x7 centralized number and increase in strength of the woman police force.
Special programmes and awareness of health care for women will be given at different municipality and panchayat levels.
Special force will be set up for domestic violence cases for women.
Public mode of transport will be started exclusively for women in major routes of Goa.
Woman entrepreneurship training institute will be set up with mentorship and financial, business planning, marketing and business accounting support.
The election for the 40 seats will take place on February 14, and the ballots will be counted on March 10.
