A day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Chief Minister Pramod Sawant of heading a corrupt government, Sawant took a swipe at the Congress MP, saying that he visited Goa as a tourist and no one takes him seriously.

Speaking to reporters, Chief Minister said there is no need to respond to the criticism of his government.

"Do not go into Rahul Gandhi's allegations. Rahul Gandhi will come here as a tourist and make allegations. Do not go by his accusations. I do not know what he was doing in Goa if he cannot see any development in the state. No one takes him seriously. There is no worry," he said

On Friday, all 37 candidates of the Congress party for the upcoming Goa Assembly polls on Wednesday took a pledge of loyalty that they will not defect during the five-year term after being elected on Congress ticket not will they contest election on another party symbol by resigning from the party during their term.

Goa will vote on February 14. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
