Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said the move to bring back former chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar into BJP is gathering pace and the party is still in touch with the former BJP Goa state president.
"BJP is a national party and Parsekar sir is an ex-CM and ex-state president. We are still talking to him. I am confident that we will convince him and bring him back to the BJP," Sawant told reporters.
He also took a swipe at dissenters within the party, saying that the BJP would overcome obstacles laid in its party both by insiders and those outside the party to win 22 plus seats in the February 14 Assembly polls.
"We are confident that we will win 22 plus seats in 2022. Irrespective of the fact that some of our own and those outside the party are trying to create obstructions, but people know for sure that this time too they will vote for a stable government which believes in development," Sawant said.
Sawant was also present during BJP leader Dayanand Sopte's filing of nomination from Mandrem constituency and expressed confidence that all voters in Mandrem will back BJP candidate.
"Dayanand Sopte has done a good job and development in the Mandre constituency. He has also done well as the Chairman of Goa Tourism Corporation in the state. From his point of view and from the point of view of Pernem taluka, he will get a ministerial post in the next government," Sawant said.
