Raising the pitch against the Congress ahead of the Goa Assembly election, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said Goa is a tourist destination of Gandhi family and Congress.

In his second campaign tour of the coastal State, which goes to polls on February 14, Shah said, "They (Congress) come to Goa as tourists. Congress means instability and chaos. BJP means stability and development."

Shah, who was campaigning for the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in Sanquelim, claimed double engine government has done a lot of work for Goa in terms of infrastructure. "Several key infrastructure projects like Atal Setu, Zuari bridge, Mopa airport was undertaken by the BJP governments. Of all the political parties, the BJP is the only one that carries a report card of the work done. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant kept the government stable and carried out all round development. He implemented all the schemes of Prime Minister Modi in Goa. The work of making developed Goa has been done in the last ten years," he said.

Amit Shah also appealed to the people to elect Pramod Sawant for the third time and make a hattrick.

Meanwhile, Pramod Sawant also bowed down and thanked the people for supporting him so far. "Union Home Minister Amit Shah has come to appeal for me to you. Looking at the crowd, I am sure you will re-elect me. During the tenure of our government, despite many natural calamities, we worked without any hesitation. No one ever dreamed that I would become an MLA but even after that, you made me the Speaker and Chief Minister. I have fulfilled all the responsibilities given by the party. Now it is your responsibility to get me re-elected," Sawant said.

Pramod Sawant stated that government will provide 30,000 jobs in the next five years if voted to power.

He also launched an attack at Sudin Dhavalikar and said Dhavalikar was interfering in other constituencies as he was not getting elected in his own constituency.

BJP state president Sadanand Tanavade said Pramod Sawant is playing a key role in carrying forward Parrikar's legacy.

Former Maharashtra Minister Harshvardhan Patil, former Kolhapur MP Dhananjay, Maharashtra MLA Bala Bhegade, Pali District Panchayat President Gopal Surlakar were present at the event.

Elections to the 40-member Goa legislative assembly will be held on next Monday and the counting of votes will take place on March 10.
