Goa Forward Party (GFP) on Thursday, January 13, lodged a complaint to the Election Commission against Fatorda constituency BJP worker Damodar (Damu) Naik for violating the Covid norms during election campaign.

GFP's General secretary Durgadas Kamat alleged that Damu was seen doing door to door campaigning at Amrutnagar with around 20 people, on Thursday 13th, January, at around 6:30 pm in Fatorda.

Speaking to press, Kamat questioned, "In spite of calling the flying squad, several times they turned up late. We don't understand whether officials of the flying squad are in hand in gloves with the ruling government?"

He also sought action against Damu by attaching a video link as an evidence.

"It is a clear violation of rules and guidelines set up by the Election Commission. The police may register an FIR against Damu as disaster management act but also a warning should be issued, because if it is not done then all the parties will also do the same," he said.

Sidhanath Buyao, who is a resident of Amrutnagar, has recorded a video of the incident live and the link has been shared to Election Commission.
