Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wings workers from Fatorda including Pankaj Usgaonkar, Ashish Shirodkar and others joined the Goa Forward party (GFP) on Sunday, January 17, in the presence GFP President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai ahead of next month's 2022 Goa Assembly elections.

The former BJYM members accused the BJP of selling jobs and depriving eligible candidates.

Goa Forward Party President Vijay Sardesai inducted the youth and assured them that once GFP party come to power, the problem of unemployment would be solved.

Speaking at the induction ceremony, Pankaj Usgaonkar said, that the BJP has done injustice to the youth of Goa by selling jobs. "We never thought there would be so much corruption. So we decided to leave the BJP and join Goa Forward, "said Usgaonkar.

Ashish Shirodkar accused BJP for not providing jobs to eligible candidates. "For this reason, we have all resigned from the BJP and joined Goa Forward for a better future," Shirodkar said.

Sardesai said the BJP sold jobs and also sold the future of the youth. "Once we come to power, we will abolish all these posts sold by the BJP and ensure that quality gets a place to get jobs," he said.

He further said there are youths in Goa who can be hired by multinational companies, but that is not happening. “That is why I had proposed a bill to provide 80 per cent jobs to the youth of the state in the private sector. But the BJP could not take it further, "said Sardesai.

Sardesai also alleged that the BJP government does not care about the youth in Goa. "The chief minister has put pressure on the dean to allow his niece to pass the MBBS exam, but has sold so many jobs to other people.
