Election Day on February 14 will be a public holiday

The state government on Monday announced that the polling day for Goa Assembly elections will be a public holiday.

As per the order issued by Shripad Arlekar, Secretary, General Administration Department, the government of Goa has declared Monday, February 14, 2022, as a "Public Holiday" being the "Polling Day" for the general elections to the Goa Legislative Assembly, 2022, throughout the State of Goa.

The polling day in Goa would be paid holiday for the people from that state employed in Goa so that they can exercise their franchise.

The Goa Assembly elections will be held on February 14. The counting of votes will be done on March 10.
