The Election Commission of India has announced the dates and schedule for the upcoming Goa elections, polling for which will take in one phase.

Issue of Notification - 21 January
The last date of Notification - 28 January
Scrutiny of Nominations - 29 January
Last date of Withdrawal of Candidature - 31 January
Date of poll - 14 February
Announcing the poll schedule for five states, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Elections in five states will be conducted in seven phases. Goa will vote on February 14.
Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra said that a total of 690 Assembly constituencies in Goa, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab will go to the polls this time.
For the past two years, the impact of COVID-19 has made the conduct of elections difficult. It is our duty to see how to conduct elections safely. The EC has put in place new protocols, Chandra said.
According to Chief Election Commissioner, a total of 18.34 crore electors will take part in these elections; 25.9 lakh first-time electors, of which 11.4 lakh are women. The total number of polling stations is 2,15,368, an increase of 16% from 2017 and 1,620 polling stations will be manned by women police and security personnel.
"It is mandatory for political parties to upload on their website detailed information regarding individuals with pending criminal cases selected as poll candidates and as to why this particular candidate was selected," CEC Chandra said.
The Goa state's assembly, currently ruled by the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), currently has 40 members of the legislative assembly. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is the incumbent Chief Minister.
