Leader of opposition and seven-time MLA Digambar Kamat filed his nomination papers as Congress candidate from Margao constituency on Thursday, January 27. He was accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar.
Kamat, who is eyeing to get elected for the eighth time, said, "Many candidates stood against me but all of them were sent home by people of Margao. The people of Margao know my work".
"People have seen the good work when I was the Chief Minister and during my government has given a lot of things to the people," he added,
He expressed confidence that Congress will form the next government in the coastal state.
Meanwhile BJP candidate for Margao, Manohar 'Babu' Ajgaonkar, also filed his nomination for Margao constituency.
Th Deputy Chief Minister has been given candidature from Margao constituency.
