The Congress Central Election Committee on Wednesday, Janaury 19, issued its fifth list of Goa Assembly election candidates.
The fifth list has five candidates and with this, the Congress party has announced candidates for 37 of the 40 seats.
Among the five names that the party declared in its fifth list, notable is Reis Magas Sarpanch Kedar Naik, who resigned from BJP and joined Congress last week. Naik has been named the party's candidate from Saligao.
The grand old party declared Delilah Lobo, wife of former BJP minister Michael Lobo who joined the party last week, as its candidate from the Siolim Assembly constituency.
Advocate Carlos Alvares Ferreira has been given a ticket from Aldona while Dinesh Jalmi has been fielded from Priol.
Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco, who joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Goa in December and later resigned from the party within a month of joining it, has been denied the party's ticket from Curtorim. Earlier, Congress had named Lourenco as its candidate from the Curtorim constituency. However, in the fresh list, Moreno Rebello has been named Congress's candidate.
On Tuesday, Congress had issued its third and fourth list announcing 11 names of candidates for next month's Goa Assembly elections.
