Fatorda MLA and Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai on Tuesday, January 11, alleged that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has pressurised acting dean of GMC to increase marks of his nephew's subject in MBBS.

Addressing a press conference in Margao, Sardesai said, "Sawant nephew studying second year of MBBS had failed in pathology subject in remedial exams by securing mere 18.25 marks."

"To pass he needed 24.5 marks, which were managed by the Chief Minister by pressuring the acting dean. Internal assessment marks should be displayed on the notice board, however in this case it didn’t happen,” he added

Sardesai has demanded an enquiry in the matter by sitting High Court judge.

Fatorda MLA said that the Chief Minister did marks manipulation in exams for government jobs and is now interfering in MBBS exams.

“There is no place for merit in this BJP regime. This Chief Minister should be forced to resign over this matter as he is doing injustice to deserving candidates and students,” he said.

He further stated that the Vice Chancellor should immediately seal all the exam papers and conduct an inquiry regarding this matter
