Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dattaprasad Mandrekar on Friday resigned from the primary membership of the party.

Mandrekar was the state executive member of BJP's OBC Division.

In his resignation letter, he said, “Many BJP workers are unhappy to work in Fatorda and BJP has no future under the leadership of Damu Naik in this constituency.”

He also mentioned that many BJP workers are ready to resign from the party in Fatorda.

Former BJP's General Secretary Dilip Nayak had complained about Damu Naik with state president Sadanand Shet Tanawade and Union Minister Satish Dhond.

Dilip Nayak also said that if Naik was given the BJP ticket this time, he would not be able to get even 5,000 votes.
