Babush Monserrate leads in Panaji, Utpal Parrikar trailing after 3 rounds

BJP candidate Atanasio 'Babush' Monserrate is leading after three rounds in Panaji on Thursday.

Monserrate is leading with 2981 votes while BJP rebel and independent candidate Utpal Parrikar has got 2647 votes. Congress's Elvis Gomes is placed at third spot with 1545 votes.

Utpal Parrikar, the son of former CM Manohar Parrikar, contested from Panaji seat against BJP candidate Atanasio Monserratte.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is trailing from Sanquelim against his rival in the counting of postal ballots in Goa on Thursday.

As per initial counting trends, Congress is leading on 15 seats while BJP is ahead on 13 seats. Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party is ahead on 6 seats.
