The Consul General of the Netherlands in Mumbai, Bart de Jong, recently interacted with members of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Goa to discuss matters related to logistics, e-mobility, maritime, tourism, water etc.
One of the objectives of the interaction was to intensify the scope of interaction between the state and the Netherlands from a government, business and people-to-people perspective.
Various ideas and discussions were exchanged on the potential areas of cooperation.
De Jong also stated that the Netherlands was keen to look at the numerous opportunities in the state of Goa, which would be under its economic diplomacy and is mainly associated with increasing the bilateral engagement through investment-related work and trade.
Bart de Jong also highlighted various CII Goa initiatives related to the development of the logistics sector into a multi-modal hub with advanced warehousing facilities and infrastructure, and at the same time bringing in nautical tourism to attract high-end tourists to the state. He also touched upon how the concept of work from Goa was used to enhance the start-up eco-system in the state.
He expressed his support through an Annual Bilateral Forum on Ports and Maritime Affairs, to be organised later this year.
