The season of joy and merriment is here. And, to celebrate it differently, the newly opened, St. Regis Goa Resort held the traditional cake-mixing ceremony at its property in Cavelossim along with children of Valentina’s Heaven Orphanage. Children across age groups participated in the cake-mixing event along with guests and employees of the resort.
The cake-mixing event was part of Global Customer Appreciation Week, a Marriott International initiative.
The proceeds from the sale of the Christmas cake will be shared 100% with the orphanage.
The GM of the St. Regis Goa Resort, Satish Kumar, said, "Guided by the Marriott International 2025 Sustainability and Social Impact Goals, as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we commit to creating a positive and sustainable impact wherever we do business."
"We believe in making the communities, in which we operate, better places to live, work and visit. Spreading the joy of Christmas with the children of the orphanage is our way of bringing the community together during the festive season,” he explained.
At the cake mixing event, there were various games and fun activities for the children. Instead of spirits, fresh juices were used in the cake mixing process.
The cake-mixing ceremony is part of an age-old Christmas tradition which is enjoyed with friends, family and relatives, the world over.
