For the past seven years, both Kim and Ashwin have managed to take outdoor rock climbing to a new high while simultaneously building a community bonded by the sheer love of adventure. The Agonda rock surface in Canacona taluka is their discovery and is today a playground for many to push their limits.

"I would say, every bit of seven years was worth it as we have managed to build a community of around 400 climbers who regularly come and climb with us. But more than anything, it's about the bonds we've forged over the years," says Kim.

Besides outdoor rock climbing in Goa, Adventure Breaks also takes trips to Badami and Hampi in Karnataka which are popular spots for rock climbing and bouldering.

To first get the taste of what it is to feel the adrenaline rush of climbing in a place like Agonda, head to the new Solstice Climbing Wall of Adventure Breaks at Socorro, Porvorim, which is open from 11 am to 9 pm daily.

The adventure company also runs climbing walls for the students of Gera School, near Old Goa, and King's School in South Goa.

At Solstice, a newbie can learn the basics of climbing from a well-trained team of Adventure Breaks. This indoor climbing wall is open throughout the year, offering well-curated courses and camps for learners as well as those with experience in rock climbing.

And the rock behind Solstice, climbing coach Ritesh Kudtarkar, is always at hand to guide those showing potential at the sport and the ones willing to put in the hard work to get better at it.

"At Solstice, we help kids, starting from 5 years and above, and adults to embrace their fears of heights and help discover their inner strength. The focus is also on building confidence in rock climbing as well as in life," Ritesh says.

For indoor climbing, Adventure Breaks offers a full-day pass which allows climbers to practice as long as they like. It also offers memberships with unlimited access to climbing sessions during the membership period.

While a trainee takes baby steps to realise his rock climbing training at Solstice, Agonda is the high point where indoor skills are put to the test.

"Adventure Breaks provides the perfect launchpad for those aiming to take the sport seriously and its combination of indoor and outdoor training sets them apart. Even those aspiring for national glory can dream so with training provided at Solstice," says Allwin Dpio, a passionate rock climber, who lives in Taleigao.
