KONKANI FILM NACHOM-IA KUMPASAR

For those of you who have never watched the Konkani hit Nachom-ia Kumpasar or can’t get enough of it, here’s your chance to watch it on June 1, 2024 at the ESG Theatre in Panjim.

The film has been directed by Bardroy Barretto, and stars Vijay Maurya and Palomi Ghosh in the lead roles.

Set in the 1960s, the film is a tribute to the unsung Konkani musicians of that era and features over 20 popular Konkani songs from the 60s and 70s.

It is the story of a bittersweet relationship between a young singer and her mentor, set against the backdrop of the jazz clubs of Bombay and the musicians from Goa during the 60s.

Nachom-ia Kumpasar has won 24 international, 3 national and 10 state awards, making it the most awarded Konkani film. It was also shortlisted at the 2016 Oscars for Best Picture and Best Original Score.
