In order to foster inter-religious dialogue, harmony and fellowship, the Society of Pilar, along with Fr Agnel College, Pilar; Nirmala Institute of Education, Panjim; Carmel College, Nuvem; Rosary College, Navelim, and St Andrew’s Centre for Philosophy, Mumbai, will organise ‘Sadbhav Sammelan’ from February 17, 2023 to February 18, 2023 at the Pilar Pilgrim Centre, Pilar, Goa.

The unique two-day International Interfaith Conference will bring together students, educators, peace activists and faith leaders to promote the idea of peaceful coexistence and harmonious living through paper presentations, workshops, art, poetry, music and performances.

Renowned speakers like folklore researcher and environmentalist, Rajendra Pandurang Kerkar; Director, Centre for Study of Society and Secularism, Irfan Engineer; and Founding Director of Museum of Goa; Dr Subodh Kerkar.

Co-founder and Head, St Andrews Centre for Philosophy and Performing Arts, Mumbai, Dr Omkar Bhatkar; founder Goa Chitra Museum, Victor Hugo; Faith leader, Dr Agnelo Pinhero; environment and social activist, Tallulah D’Silva; professor at Government Law college, Mumbai, and Global Peace Index Ambassador, Prof Kishu Daswani; cultural anthropologist, Dr Francis Carvalho; sociologist, Dr Tanmay Sharma; Interfaith Dialogue educator, Dr Ivon Almeida; peace and cultural activist, Fr Anand Mathew; educationist and cartoonist, Smitha Bhandare Kamat; author and polyglot, Kiran Bhat will be the speakers.

‘Sadbhav’ will focus on understanding ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ ('the whole world is one family').

A drama based on the themes of harmony, peace and unity in diversity, by Prerna Kala Manch, from Varanasi, UP; and ‘Amaanat’, a National award-winning Hindi play will also be staged on February, 19, 2023 at 10.30 am, in the Pilar Seminary Annexe Hall, Pilar, Goa.

The play has been directed by Motilal Gupta and Anand Mathew, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It’s an action-packed saga of love beyond barriers, and is based on a short story Mandir-Masjid, written by Munshi Premchand.

Tickets are priced at ₹100.
