On Saturday, September 2, 2023, author Jessica Faleiro, will be teaching a travel writing workshop, in collaboration with Alliance Francaise. The four-hour workshop will run from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm at the Alliance Francaise in Fontainhas, Goa.
It will introduce participants to the basics of travel writing and provide practical advice that will help them with their own writing.
Why learn travel writing?
Maybe you dream of sharing your travel experiences with others. Perhaps you’ve been contemplating a career as a travel blogger or travel feature writer. Others might want to walk in the footsteps of their favourite travel writers.
Whatever the reason, travel writing brings us closer to distant places and people, bringing alive their culture and customs. It allows us to experience the world in a different way.
What will participants learn in the workshop?
Jessica will teach the basics of form, structure and style to help outline participants’ ideas and help them develop their travel writing style. By the end of the workshop, participants will:
understand how to structure a good piece of travel writing
learn literary devices that help to craft better travel stories
figure out how to improve their writing
learn how to write a good pitch to travel magazines and other publications
This is the perfect workshop for those who want to write travelogues, travel memoirs, features or blogs. Or maybe you’d like to learn a new skill, or just improve your creative writing skills in general.
