Community markets are places where Goan delicacies, handicrafts and culture are showcased, and quite a few of these markets are held in North Goa. Here’s one to check out in South Goa, and it’s by ‘Curtorcho Maand’, happening this Sunday, October 13, 2024.

This week also sees the release of books by first time Goan authors. Check it out at Broadway Book Store in Panjim.

CURTORCHO MAAND

Curtorcho Maand is back after a break, and is organising ‘Maina मांड’ in collaboration with St Rita's Church, Curtorim. This exciting event will be held in Maina, and is a celebration of local talent and village produce.

From handmade crafts to homegrown food, Curtorcho Maand champions vocal for local, and encourages the community to shop locally and support small businesses. The event is a great opportunity to check out a variety of handmade products, including soaps, snacks, clothes and more.

It’s also a chance to support local vendors and artisans, and promote local craftsmanship.

Love to check out new books or meet a famous author? Here’s an event you’re sure to enjoy because it includes both.

Broadway Book Store, Panjim, is hosting the launch of the book, Bob's Banter Chronicles, on October 8, 2024. The book is an anthology of short stories by 21 first-time writers, edited and crafted by Robert Clements.

The event will also feature individual book releases:

  • Wait For Me - Man’s Eternal Quest by Keith Alvares

  • Unseen I Found by Blaise Costabir

  • Lost & Found by Anita Noronha

  • Murder in Genesis by Elvina Sequeira
