SOUL STITCH

The Museum of Christian Art (MoCA), Old Goa, is organising ‘Soul Stitch’ as part of the Wednesday Sewcials at MoCA with Miriam on Nov 29, 2023.

Participants can bring along pieces of fabric they no longer use – clothes, an old pillowcase or tea towel – and bobs and bits like buttons, ribbons, decorative trims, embroidered patches, jewellery bits, beads, crochet, sequins and even old photos and postcards.

Slow stitching is an intuitive and calming process, allowing one to enter into a state of creative flow. It explores the connection between process and material, focusing on stitch, print, surface manipulation and construction to create delightful textile surfaces.

The only requirements are fabric, needle and thread, and the use of simple repetitive stitches.
